Who are you: My name is Ciara Jones. I am an advertising major
with a concentration in business. I am currently also pursuing a certificate in
Health and Spirituality. I am a talented advertising student that loves being
creative and helping manage projects. I have interned at several businesses and
agencies around Miami in hope to better my skills. This business would give me
an opportunity to better my marketing and management skills.
What are you offering to customers? The concept that I am
offering to customers is a phone application that will help alleviate some of
the stress before a doctor’s appointment and during the appointment. This app
will allow patients to track their medications, fill out pre-appointment forms
at home and help them track their own medical records. This application will
help people transfer medical records with ease. My service will help people
take control of their health and let them communicate with their doctors more
effectively.
Who are you offering it to? I am offering this product to millennials
specifically who like to use mobile devices to track their medical needs. I am
also targeting smaller clinics instead of hospitals because most hospitals are
now using applications like this. My customers are young professionals that do
not have time to take off from work for doctor’s appointments. These people
want quick and easy answers and love to technology.
Why do they care? Customers will pay for this product
because it will help them take better control of their health and offer
services that help them during their appointment process. In a time where
people do not have a lot of time to waste, this application will help people
take care of their health quicker and more efficiently.
What are the core competencies? This application is a new
idea that all doctors can use for their patients. It creates an easy
communication between patient and doctor that people are looking for. In a time
where chronic disease is at its highest, this application will help people take
better control of their symptoms and medications.
I believe these elements all fit together perfectly. I want people to live healthier lives and I can
use my marketing skills to target the right people who are looking for this
product. I think the only weak point is that it is an application and not all
people like to use mobile technology for their medical needs.
The feedback that I received was mainly positive. Some
students recommended that I target smaller medical facilities because bigger
hospitals already have applications that perform some of the functions that my
app does. Unfortunately, through time I have realized that some medical
facilities to offer what I am offering however, I could change my approach
towards smaller facilities like the student suggested. After the feedback, I am
going to narrow my target market to smaller clinics and private practice
doctors.
Hi Ciara, I have always thought your idea was great. I think its good you are trying to target millennial who are more health conscious. They are more likely to have a smart phone and be more savvy downloading apps.
