14A- A Halfway Reflection
Tenaciousness is competency- Through this course I have realized that I
need to stay very organized. Assignments are due at the same time every week
but it is very easy to forget to do all the right steps for submitting. The
best thing I did for myself was create a checklist on a separate paper and
check things off as I go.
Also, I think open-mindedness and creativity are great ways
to approach this class. Once you accept your ideas and creativity, your mind
feels freer to create opportunities and solve problems.
Tenaciousness is also attitude – During the hurricane, I
really felt a sense of loss and did not want to do my work. I went home to
visit my family and saw all the devastation and felt as though my work was the
last thing on my priority list. I had no electricity and had to use the hotspot
on my phone to do work. What got me through it all was the fact that I enjoyed
what I was writing about and I was doing something creative. The work seemed a
lot less like work and more like art. Through this course I feel like I have
been a little more tenacious than I usually am. I am naturally a tenacious
person but this class put me to the test. The best thing to tell yourself is
the that classic Finding Nemo quotes, “just keep swimming.”
Three Tips:
1.
Be open to your creativity- Do not be afraid of your ideas.
2.
Give yourself ample time to get things done- procrastination will get you in this course one way or another.

Checklists are so important as long as one sticks to them and actually do them. That can be my problem if I do a checklist on my computer; however, if I do a checklist on paper it actually works since I can scratch it off every time I complete something. It really feels good to put a line or check next to something that is done.
ReplyDeleteMotivation is key, and finding something that motivates me and inspires me allows me to do the work better and on time.
Working through the hurricane was tough. Unfortunately, I did not have internet for a couple of days, and because there was no electricity I had to conserve the battery on my phone for emergencies
