25A- Whats next?
Existing Market: The next product for my venture would
be incorporating more technology into the company. I think it would amazing to
use virtual reality. Also providing a way for customers to make an appointment
easier on the app. I would like to make the application as engaging as
possible. Maybe including doctor reviews and information on insurance plans
they provide.
Reflection:
After the three
interviews, I realized that people would really like to have more features on
the app. Kind of like a one stop shop for medical needs. One person mentioned
that they would like a way to make appointments on the app and another person
mentioned they wanted an insurance feature on the app that can help them find
doctor’s that carry their insurance plans.
From the interviews, it
was made clear that everyone has a different view of what they need in terms of
their health. My second interviewee mentioned that she would love to the app be
accessible on both the computer and mobile phone for easy access. Additionally,
she mentioned that she wanted the app to have a password and username feature so
that they felt their information was safe on the app.
My third interviewee also
said that they would love to see the company have several apps that each have their
own purpose to fit all customer’s needs.
After the interviews, I am
still confident that this product would be great for millennials.
New Market
The new market that I chose
are people ages 40 to 55. This group of people are known as baby boomers. I
never really considered targeting them; however, I think it would be perfect
fit because they also like to use their mobile phone. I can see these people
using this application for everyone in their families because this demographic
also have children.
Reflection:
This new market ended up
being a great fit for my product. Not the perfect fit but still promising. Both
interviewees were curious to see how an app would work like mine. The first
interviewee was not so fond of having all their medical records on their phone.
I realized that as people get older medical conditions and records get a little
more complicated.
The second interviewee
mentioned that she would love to use the app for her kids doctor’s appointments
because her kids are always sick and she was tired of keeping track of all
their medications and dosages. She also mentioned that it would make
transferring vaccines records to her kid’s new schools much easier too.
What surprised me the
most was that this group was so receptive to learning how to use the app. They
wanted to learn how to use their phone to its fullest capability. The idea of
having an application solve all these problems was mind blowing to them.
Your idea over creating an app for medical records is outstanding. Making the appointments is my idea too (lol). I believe that creating a link in the app for family records would be a hit. Not only can the parents have it organized in a way that they can have everything in one spot, but they can also click in each individual’s name and have all the records they want there.
ReplyDeleteBesides that, there can be a search button to check who has done certain checkups and who has not.
This is an excellent idea for millennials since they are very tech-savvy. However, baby boomers have adapted to this technological era and would appreciate having everything online since one never knows when the information is needed.
This information can be shared to hospitals for them to check on the medical history before treating an individual.
I think you're definitely right that as you get older your medical records become more complicated. Like Alexandra mentioned, I believe that baby boomers are beginning to become more accustomed to modern technology and may appreciate and benefit from your product. With all their different records it can be easy to lose track of things but this would be made easy if everything could be saved in one place.
